We could potentially welcome an all-new Rolls-Royce Phantom (Phantom Limelight Edition shown) sometime next year, if a report by Automobile Magazine is correct.
According to the publication, the redesigned uber luxury sedan will carry a modern and an even more imposing design, with a taller radiator grille, more sculptured front end with the brand’s trademark rectangular headlamps and more striking signature C-pillars. The second-generation model is also said to have a slightly less formal flanks with a longer and more naturally flowing lower character line.
The new model will be based on an all-new, all-aluminium modular platform that will reportedly underpin all future Rolls-Royces. That also means the new model will be lighter than the current model which tips the scale at over 2,500kg for the standard wheelbase variant.
Like the current 12 year-old model, the next-generation Phantom will continue to be propelled by the BMW-sourced V12 engine.
