Updated MINI 3 door, 5 door and Convertible price and specification

MINI Australia has announced pricing and specification details for updated MINI 3 door, 5 door and Convertible ranges.

Featuring a higher level of standard equipment, a unique lighting signature and a swathe of new colour and trim options, the updated MINI range also majors on connectivity – thanks to the new MINI Connected 4G system installed as standard.

From the newly-designed MINI logo – a prominent feature on the new key fob, as well as the exterior, projection lighting and steering wheel – through to the latest lighting systems, the new MINI’s overall design has been further refined.

An additional five exterior colour options have been added to the palette, available for both Hatch and Convertible. These include Solaris Orange, Emerald Grey, Starlight Blue, Melting Silver and Chili Red.

Of course, there remains a range of contrasting colour roof and striping options for further individualisation.

Fitted as standard on selected models, the newly-designed LED lighting system combines LED daytime running lights and LED turn indicators into the main headlight fitting to create a unique lighting signature.

Move to the rear and the distinctive Union Jack styled tail lights are set to become another icon of MINI design.

MINI Connected

The updated MINI Hatch and Convertible ranges debut a new infotainment system – MINI Connected.

Utilising the 4G network and a touchscreen interface, the MINI Connected suite includes Real-Time Traffic Information as well as Remote Services, Connected Services and TeleServices.

Peace of mind is added with the only integrated Emergency eCall function in the segment.

Apple CarPlay is fitted as standard across the ranges, and wireless phone charging is standard on Cooper S and JCW variants, as well as the Cooper Convertible.

Strengthening these digital credentials further is the MINI Connected App, which fully integrates the user’s smart device with their MINI.

Using the MINI Connected App provides send to car functionalities, such as sharing your calendar and contact data to the car, creating navigation and suggesting departure times based on traffic information.

The Remote Services system allows display of the vehicle’s location and fuel level, while enabling the user to flash the lights, lock/unlock the vehicle and even pre-condition the vehicles cabin, all from a connected smart device.

MINI’s Connected Services provides weather information, key points of interest, news items, petrol station locations and send to car functionality.

The TeleServices system meanwhile enables the vehicle to communicate with the chosen MINI dealership to share service requirements, triggering a message to the driver when servicing is required.

An integrated Concierge function, providing the user with additional functionalities such as dinner recommendations (again unique-in-class), is also available.

MINI 3 Door Hatch

The 3 Door Hatch remains the highest-selling MINI variant today. Befitting its lively nature, all variants are available with a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment.

Cooper purchasers can also opt for the new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Stepping up to the Cooper S enables a sports-tuned version of the seven-speed dual- clutch gearbox, complete with paddle shifters for additional control. Opting for this transmission also provides a JCW sports leather steering wheel and the ability to make launch control starts.

Top-of-the-range JCW buyers can choose an eight-speed sports automatic gearbox, again with paddle shifters and launch control capability.
