Koenigsegg has unleashed its potent, track-focused Agera RS. The Swedish supercar maker says the Agera RS pushes the boundaries and takes the Agera to all new levels of performance.
The RS is said to utilise advanced technologies borrowed from the One:1 programme while maintaining all the features and functionalities of previous S and R models.
The Agera RS features advanced lightweight sound insulation, new track optimised front splitter, front winglets, side skirts, dynamic underbody flap system and an active rear spoiler for added down force, which is now up to 450kg at 250km/h. The RS also gains improved side air outlets behind the front wheels.
The Agera RS can also be optioned with Koenigsegg’s active and self-levelling chassis package, 3G connected Pre-Active chassis setup, alternative aero package and active sound cancelling.
Power is drawn from the familiar 5.0-litre V8 engine that has been optimised to now deliver a massive 866kW (1,160bhp) and a higher rev limit. The engine is also capable of running on E85 fuel for even higher outputs in certain markets.
While it may be created mainly for track use, the Agera RS can be registered for road use worldwide, as it complies with the latest safety standards and other necessary homologation features.
Only 25 of the Agera RS will be hand-built worldwide with Koenigsegg confirming 10 has already been presold.
