PDC History -- Number 9 for MePosted 2:54 PMLooking at the nifty little PDC history app that Adam Nathan put together, I realize that PDC05 is my ninth PDC. I missed the first Windows 3.1 PDC, because I wasn't a hardcore Windows developer yet. Rene' was pregnant in 1992, and we went to San Francisco together for the Win32 PDC. My streak has one interruption - I mised the "Viper" PDC in Los Angeles because the company I worked for had a policy -- get this -- that said you could only go to conferences for one or two days. They were an incredibly stupid company (I fired them shortly afterwards.) Sunday, September 04, 2005
Unable to Connect to BIS servicePosted 4:22 PMIf you're using the Team System single VPC image distributed by Microsoft, you're probably getting the "Unable to Connect to BIS service" error when you try to create a team project. I finally got tired of seeing it, and found this posting by Omar Villarreal that describes how to fix the problem. The basic issue is that there's a statup dependency on SQL Server, so you need to restart IIS and the TFS service.
